Malaysia’s bodybuilder, Sazali Samadcwas banned on 21 December 2015 for 4 years after he was tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Sazali, who tested positive for steroid abuse, failed a random out of competition test. The random test was conducted by the National Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (Adamas) on 1 Sept 2015, which the date the results were known. During his career, Sazali assured 10 Mr Universe and 9 Mr Asia titles.

Singapore’s bodybuilder, Low Xiang Hun Zen, who competes in the 70kg & below category is also known as Mr Singapore. Hun Zen who failed the competition testing at the 50^THSingapore National Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2012 on 1 July 2012. He was caught due to the use of prohibited substances. He was tested positive for 3-OH-Stanozolol (Metabolite of Stanozolol), Anabolic Steroid, Clenbuterol, other Anabolic Agent, Letrozole metabolite, Aromatase Inhibitor, Furosemide, Diuretics, Hydrochlorthiazide, Diuretics, Chlorthiazide, Diuretics and Spironolactone/ Canrenone, Diuretics.
